Driven entrepreneurial executive with proven strategic, corporate development and operating experience within the VC, biopharmaceutical, fitness, wellness, and cosmetics industries. Accomplishments include formation, funding and/or key leader of 20 start-up companies, six of which are now multi-billion dollar companies; international drug development of 350+ products leading to 100+ product approvals ; active or past board member of 15 life sciences companies; former Senior VP of Strategy and M&A at Quintiles Transnational (now IQVIA) setting strategy, oversight of M&A, integration, client development, and leading clinical operations. Dr. Pavia founded StratWorks 18 years ago, coaching CEOs, setting strategy, and M&A for biopharmaceutical and specialty pharmaceutical companies. In 1991, Dr. Pavia became a pioneer in immuno-oncology, and lectured extensively to oncologists, urologists, & dermatologists, while treating thousands of referred patients. Dr. Pavia lectures at UNC-CH (primarily entrepreneurship and marketing); has lectured at Duke (financial bootcamp) and at GA Tech (physics, primarily optics). Dr. Pavia is an expert in using cannabis as medicine. Dr. Pavia is one of the top physicians leading the international efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. She leads two international networks of physicians and healthcare workers, and has advised multiple countries on setting policies and SOPs. Dr.Pavia has devoted her time, pro bono. Dr. Pavia is an animal rights activist. She is currently leading efforts to make animal abuse a felony, rather than a misdemeanor, federally. Her other current hobby is educating about the microbiome, and how it affects all of us, mentally & physically. She is an accomplished classically-trained pianist, composer, guitarist, and is learning organ; she plays in a local band (fly girl, vocals, keyboard, and guitar). Dr. Pavia is an accomplished artist (acrylic, gel, and stained glass) whose work is displayed in private collections globally, including commissioned works. She is a gourmet chef, master gardener, and loves exercising (Krav Maga, yoga, TRX, weightlifting, dance, and aerial (Lyra, silks, aerial yoga). She is an avid SCUBA diver, having done 350+ dives. She is passionate about travel, having logged more than 4.5 MM airmiles, always ready for another adventure!
