Warmworks Scotland is a joint venture between the Energy Saving Trust, Changeworks and Everwarm. It was formally established in May 2015 to deliver the Scottish Government’s £224m Warmer Homes Scotland contract, which went live on 1st September 2015. I was recruited as its first full-time employee in an MD role to build the business, head up a new project team to mobilise delivery for a 1st September contract start and then to lead the business in successful contract delivery in a live environment. Key achievements include: Successful delivery of a challenging mobilisation project that was formally signed off and given Ministerial approval both ahead of time and under budgetLed the organisation from the front, using an open and consistent approach to communication to foster trust and respect from key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that style and methods were tailored, meeting the demands of a rapidly changing start-up environment and then through to live contract delivery.Development and implementation of a contract-specific customer journey that placed customer service at its core, building trust with the Scottish Government through transparency, successful operational delivery and regular communication.Successful negotiation of a TUPE transfer of 34 staff, leading all consultation activity and formal communications to ensure a transfer that left staff positive and engaged in the future of Warmworks, whilst protecting the commercial position. Management of financial and IT workstreams to ensure that all financial systems and processes were built and implemented; and a fully functional, end-to-end and bespoke IT solution, encompassing both a desktop CRM and field-based mobile applications was built, developed, tested and signed off for go-live by the Scottish GovernmentRepresenting the business externally to key stakeholders, dealing with media enquiries and speaking at conferences and events.

Non-Executive role on the tadea Management Committee, supporting the Senior Management Team in the strategic, operational and financial development of a £5m business. Set up in 2002 as a not-for-profit organisation, tadea provides sustainable project management and advice services. The organisation's expertise includes energy efficiency, renewable technologies and sustainable transport. Working closely with individuals and communities in both the public and private sector, tadea helps householders and businesses to reduce the amount of energy used at home, at work and whilst travelling.

Managing a £5m energy efficiency business with c.100 staff, headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne. Established in 1980, KNW is the oldest energy efficiency company in the North of England and has helped to heat and insulate more than 300,000 homes in the North East and Cumbria since its inception. KNW works with energy suppliers, local authorities and other funding providers to offer householders help and discounts on:* Energy efficient central heating installation, repairs, servicing and maintenance* Loft and cavity wall insulation* Solar photovoltaics, air source heat pumps and other renewable technologies* External wall insulation* Energy advice and ongoing support post-installationKNW is an established, trusted and customer-focused provider that has built a proud reputation based on service quality, and living by its values and its heritage, which are rooted in the local community.

Leading the provision of back office functions across Carillion Energy Services, totalling around 1,400 employees with a sector turnover of £400m. Key areas of responsibility include:* All contact centre operations, spread across four major UK sites* All work planning and scheduling, together with sub-contractor management across our heating, renewables, breakdown and repair and insulation businesses* Full delivery of customer service across the business, managing with all reactive and proactive elements of service delivery* An ongoing programme of business change and improvement, managing activity in partnership with business leads to drive efficiencies and best practice throughout the organisation* Mobilisation of new contracts into the CES business* Relationship management at the highest level with key CES customers, including the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the BBC and the Legal Services Commission
