Whole engine structural analyst in the Civil Large Engines System Design department at Rolls-Royce. Role involves the assessment of engine structures and their installation in response to static, dynamic, and transient loads. Current focus is on the detailed analysis of a Fan Blade Off failure load case, and model correlation to test data.

18-month graduate scheme in the Civil Aerospace sector of Rolls-Royce; made up of 4 placements:Product System Families Lead - Programme Manager of knowledge sharing initiative within the System Design department. Involved planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management and communication for a global programme of system specialists.Graduate Design and Make project - Accelerated design, make and verify project focused on a specific problem within the company. Project Manager of a team of three other engineering and manufacturing engineering graduates.Trent 900 Service Engineer - In-service engineering support for the Trent 900 engine. Placement involved detailed data analysis, problem solving, root cause analysis, and engine overhaul process improvement.Turbines Aerodynamicist - support for project associated with the rapid aerodynamic analysis of turbine blade castings, using structured light scanning and advanced CFD techniques. Placement included a technical feasibility study of a concept manufacturing inspection process; involving the use of a Design of Experiments technique and high-resolution point cloud processing.

Summer placement as an Integrated Project Team (IPT) leader on Trent 1000-TEN, working on modifications to the Intermediate Pressure Compressor. Work involved the planning of modification milestones and team resource within Rolls-Royce and its relevant supply chain.

12 month industrial placement based in the Trent 1000 Development department. Work involved validation planning, development engine build, BoM specification and flight test and certification documentation for the Trent 1000 Package C engine variant.
