Integral to Squirrel’s expanding lending activities managing the entire construction and development lending portfolio.Responsible for developing and improving credit policies, credit reporting, and supporting structures to ensure best practice and fit for purpose.Communicating policy, risk appetite, and changes in the industry across the business to further improve understanding of the fundamentals of good construction and development lending.Assessment and approval of lending applications in collaboration with the Credit Committee, Board of Directors, other Credit Managers, and Financial Advisers.Management and oversight of credit recovery activities where needed, including mortgagee sales of security properties held.

Successfully set up, launched and operated a new start-up business aimed at assisting financial advisers with non-bank mortgage lending applications.Loan applications included small and large-scale property development, bridging finance, property acquisition (residential/commercial/rural), refinancing and equity release.Consistent communication maintained with all available non-bank lenders to maximise credit approval levels.Responsible for all aspects of the initial start-up and subsequent running of the business including registration, compliance, branding, marketing and advertising, cashflow management, business strategy, operational workflows, record keeping and day-to-day operations.
