Manager Strategic Development has four primary responsibilities for Downer Mining; - Business developlment- Bid management- Indigenous Affairs- Managing Director WaanyiDowner Joint VentureBusiness development requires establishing a diverse pipeline for the resource focused business of Downer Mining, in particular assisting clients with feasibility works, traditional owner partnerships, and commercial models that create mutual benefits for resource owners and mining service providers.Bid management oversees and coordinates the Downer Mining opportunity and bid management processes with appropriate systematic rigor. Indigenous Affairs is a leading area of Downer Mining capability and expertise, in particular in employment and training, partnerships and business models, and leads to a strategic point of difference for the business. The WaanyiDowner Joint Venture has contracts for Training and Mining with New Century for the Century Mine, with FY2019 revenue of $2m and preparing to commence insitu mining subject to final NCR Board approval. The JV has been operation since 2015, incorporated in 2018 and is the first of its kind as a true equal partnership with the Waanyi people of the Qld Gulf, through the Waanyi PBC.

Downer Mining functional responsibility for Environment, Sustainability including governance and compliance, business development and innovation. ReGen, A Downer Mining Enterprise is the Downer Mining Services division undertaking land rehabilitation and closure services in the Australian Minerals sector.

Responsible for strategic development of BlueScope Steel global operations and systems performance – environmental governance.

Responsible for all aspects of environmental and systems management for the Bing Bong Port facility, processing and McArthur River mining operations; including open cut expansion approvals process and feasability study oversight.

Accountable for diverse systems and performance aspects for the Abbot Point Port Facility and the CollinsvilleCoal Mining including extensive mine rehabilitation program

Operational oversight for mines rehabilitation program, mining services, and Aboriginal employment program and strategy.
