Hello, I'm a co-founder of Feast Collective in Spokane, Washington, and I currently serve as Co-Executive Director. We are creating a space for mutual hospitality alongside former refugees and immigrants in Spokane. It's called Feast World Kitchen! Vision: For all former refugees and immigrants to experience full belonging in the Spokane community and to have opportunities to build healthy, flourishing lives.Mission:Feast Collective elevates and empowers immigrants and former refugees as leaders. We use international cuisine as a platform for economic resilience, holistic growth, and culture-sharing.Feast World Kitchen (3rd & Cedar downtown) is our first programmatic step: a restaurant, catering company, and food product wholesaler that incubates small, Immigrant-owned food businesses, teaches career skills, builds positive connections between community members, and shares culture with Spokane through food. We also offer "Table Time," a program that uses the Feast World Kitchen dining room to support Immigrant clients who need practical help navigating community resources and/or help with career development, job applications, filling out paperwork, searching for housing, obtaining a driver's license, and more. Plus, have a free snack while we work on these things together! Wednesdays: 12 noon to 5pm, and Fridays: 9-12, 2-4.Most of my work as Co-Executive Director is on the non-food side of the house: strategic program development, planning, fundraising, marketing/communications, HR, permits, paperwork, more paperwork... but you'll definitely find me rolling up my sleeves and cooking/delivering food with the team. My colleague Maisa Abudayha is Co-Executive Director and Chef Program Director, working more directly with the dozens of former refugee and immigrant families as they share their food & culture with Spokane, make great income, and engage in many forms of personal and career development.
