Ross has over 40 years’ experience in the rail industry, with a particular focus on rail related transport planning and major project delivery. At Queensland Rail, Ross was responsible for and managed the conceptual planning, investment feasibility, design and delivery of most major rail capital works projects in Queensland over a period of 15 years. This expertise and hands-on experience covers engineering, transport planning, investment analysis, contract administration, project management and program management, including managing the major expansion and rebuilding of QR’s physical assets. His experience has involved innovative technology, and innovative processes in a “can do” approach to delivering practical, successful outcomes.Ross has extensive experience at managing the very complex interfaces within the rail environment and a keen understanding of the stakeholder issues involved with the rail industry, which can be applied to the wider project field.He was the inaugural winner of the Rail Technical Society of Australia’s individual award for Outstanding Achievement and was one of the first in Australia to achieve Registered Master Project Director recognition by the Project Management Recognition Council of Australia.More recently, Ross has worked extensively in a consulting role, with extensive input into development of the rail strategy for South East Queensland (a key component of the State Government’s integrated regional transport plan for SEQ, Connecting SEQ 2031), covering strategic planning for passenger and freight rail in South East Queensland over a 40 year planning horizon, as well as providing planning and strategic advice to the various stakeholders in the resources industry logistics business, including Government, rail and port owners and operators, and mining companies.
