My role included the alignment and drainage design as well as attending client and third party meetings. Additionally, I contributed to the planning approval submission and this was granted for the scheme through North Ayrshire Council's planning department. I also completed preliminary designs for a number of improvement schemes within Ayrshire: A71 Moorfield Roundabout - Assessment of the existing roundabout in terms of safety, offering potential improvements. During my studies I interviewed successfully through the University's Club 21 summer placement scheme for the position of a Student Engineer with RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd. During this time I was a member of the Site Engineering team at the M876 slip road and the Helix. My duties included setting out, overseeing a number of different subcontractors on site and ensuring the works were being carried out in accordance with the construction drawings and specifications.
