Hi, I'm Ross, and I'm proud to have recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, specializing in Physiology and Neurobiology. I'm excited to transition out of the classroom and into industry where I can use my science education in laboratory applications to solve real-world problems. I want to be part of a research team in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector where I can contribute to positively impacting people’s health. Since high school, I have been working for Great Kids Events, full time during the warm months and part-time during the off season. We host parties of all sizes, from small backyard birthday parties to large public events featuring inflatables, concessions, and organized games. Through the years, I've advanced from entry level helper to one of two manager/leaders, tasked with large-scale oversight and event coordination. This experience has enabled me to develop skills that most employers seek: I'm reliable, punctual, hardworking, thoughtful, and customer-focused. One notable skill I've developed in this role is the following and completion of daily safety checklists and SOPs. Safety is important when hosting events. It's also crucial when executing critical laboratory techniques. I'm looking forward to starting my scientific career. Job titles I'm targeting include Research Assistant, Research Associate, Laboratory Researcher, and Associate Scientist, but I'm open to similar roles in a biotech or biopharma company. While I'm focusing my job search in the Washington, DC region (Montgomery County in particular), I am open to opportunities in other regions.
