In March 1907 my great grandfather, James B McAlpine, founded McAlpine & Co Ltd. I'm proud of what my family has achieved since then, building the company into a successful business that now exports to over 90 countries worldwide. As a family business we have a number of traits that many successful family businesses exhibit. Humility, integrity, and commitment are all easy things to talk about, but for a business to be successful it really does have to live up to these values. I am happy that as a company we have an enviable reputation in our market and that we are known for the quality of our products as well as the innovation that has been a central tenet in how our business has constantly evolved. We started manufacturing lead bends for the shipping industry but in 1957 made the strategic decision to make plumbing traps in plastic, becoming the first company in the United Kingdom to do so. Fast forward to today and we now have 700 people working across 8 sites around the West of Scotland, manufacturing over 18,000 product components and delivering product to over 90 countries across the globe.We manufacture high quality, innovative above ground drainage solutions that last a lifetime. We're the go-to, first choice brand for plumbing installers across the UK and our products are available at thousands of stockists throughout the UK. As a company we never stand still, and continue to explore new markets and ideas. We launched a brand new product aimed at a wider trades market this year. It is my remit to look at different markets and to drive innovation through our business.
