Ross is a Senior Design Structural Draftsman with 50 + years experience in Civil, Structural & Architectural Drafting in AutoCad as well as by hand. He is a Master Class 4 Captain, with MED 3 & DOT Square Rig Endorsement.Ross has worked for notable Civil & Structural Engineering practices in Australia, Sth Africa & USA. Ross travelled from Darwin to US aboard SV Le Papillion, a 20 metre, 65 foot, pinky schooner as 2nd Mate to gain sea time for a Master 5 Cert.1985/1986 While in South Africa, Ross worked 3 months as a Structural Draftsman & Site Inspector.1986-89 USA, Ross worked at the Annapolis Sailing School as The Senior Instructor. He also worked as a volunteer on the Pride of Baltimore 2 project in Baltimore Harbour.Later Ross worked with Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson out of Baltimore MD for 1 year as Structural/Civil Draftsman followed by 2 years with Whitman, Requardt & Assoc's of Baltimore as Structural/Civil Draftsman primarily working on Bethlehem Steelworks installations and the Baltimore Aquarium on AutoCad release Dot before returning to Oz.After returning to Aust. Ross gained his Master Class 5, Marine Engine Driver, and DOT Square Rig Endorsement for sailing vessels. Ross also continued as a Structural Draftsman with Costin Structural out of Sydney for 5 years.Returning to US in 1995 & working part time as a Civil/Architectural Draftsman in the winter months.Ross worked as Senior Instructor at the Coastline Sailing School CT & later at his own School, Coastwise Sailing & Power Boating School in Old Lyme CT & an operator w/ Connecticut Pilots, & as local Pilot to Mystic Seaport as well as Mate on Quinnipiack in New Haven, CT. Ross also ran a successful Modular Home business at the same time.2003 Ross returned to Australia and gained his Master Class 4.Ross began work with Woolacotts, (WCE), as Senior Draftsmen as well as operating as a part-time Master. Ross has published a Thunderstorm Model to help Mariners & Landsfolk alike safely predict if a T/Storm will affect them or their current activity.Ross is now with TTW as Senior Design Draftsman, (Half Baked Engineer), using his diploma and drafting skills to run a number projects independently and is the primary portal for all projects coming into TTW cold. Ross also maintains the library and archives for TTW, and mentors juniors from time to time.
