I have taken up a secondment in the Retail Support Centre as Wrokstream Lead with in the Leading the Way Programme. This role will shape the future of our stores operating model ensuring every task our colleagues undertake is simple meaningful and sustainable.

• Responsible for delivering the retail sales volume for a major store in the Co-Operative group portfolio. • Leading operations, Point of Sale plans and sales initiatives in order to support key financial KPI’s.• Responsible for all aspects pertaining to customer satisfaction. Installing campaigns amongst staff and facility to ensure an excellent experience for every customer.• Manage shop floor space and evaluate Point of Sale material to support cross selling initiatives.• Accountable for ensuring full compliance in Health & Safety policies according to company guidelines. Ensure processes and systems are in placed to report near misses and accidents.• Responsible for supporting talent acquisition during recruitment drives.• Motivating and leading a large team of 30+ staff and disseminating company announcements through Store Managers / Supervisors. Ensuring at all times that behaviours are in line with brand expectations.• Overseeing promotional rollouts and analysing performance against objectives. Providing insight to senior management on performance and suggesting improvements.• Investigating any operational processes that may infringe on loss prevention targets. Taking correcting actions as required and training any new processes to the team.• Alongside sub-ordinates, Supervisors and senior management analyse best sellers, consumer behaviour and general product performance to ensure any conclusions are utilised to promote improved commercial performance.• ‘Filling in’ for the Operations Manager in the event of absence and partaking in conference calls with senior management or other stores. Providing any insight which may assist the group in improving performance.• I have become an integral part of the store team where during my tenure the store has been appointed as an ‘Academy Store’. I subsequently was relied upon in this time to coach and motivate candidates to ‘graduate’ in the internal programme.

• Accountable for driving sales initiatives and campaigns in-store and achieving key KPI’s in doing so.• Recognised for leading a ‘model store’ on a number of occasions, particularly within peak, demanding times such as Christmas and summer.• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store and sought upon to lead, motivate and address performance of the staff.• In recognition of working effectively autonomously, I was relied upon for a 5-month period to lead another store due to long-term sickness of the Store Manager.• Coached, guided and mentored candidates through the internal graduation program as a result of the store being appointed as an ‘Academy’.
