I work within the finance department at Holsag doing a variety of different tasks. I assist the Controller with month end closures, manage the company's payables, receivables and inventory spending. I also sign off on day to day operations such as invoices, credit applications and ROE's. I work with and manage the accounting team to ensure day to day operations run smoothly. I am currently the lead contact for all financial audits for the company. I also occasionally meet with other members of the organization to give input on the company's long term direction.

Contributed in creating the company's inventory system, which included assigning item costs, creating production BOMs for each item and responsible for keeping the system up to date as new items are brought in. Weekly tasks include: calculating and assigning items landed cost values, managing the supply chain for items coming from overseas and monitoring inventory levels and ordering more inventory as needed. Within the accounting department I communicate with customers that have overdue account balances to ensure prompt payment while making sure to not damage the relationship of a potential future customer. As well work with our sister company Mity-Lite in the USA dealing with accounting procedures in both Canada and the USA and assist with month end and year end closing procedures. Sign off on vendor invoices, do bank deposits and take on any other tasks as they occur to ensure company success.

Worked closely with the controller and started as an intern and became a full time employee. Helped the company manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable. Work on excel to create pivot tables and manage the accounts of specific vendors. Also worked with Sales and Marketing on special projects such as managing customer facing events and advertising placement strategies.

Started as a seasonal worker but eventually became a retail supervisor responsible for all the employees working during my shift. Managed employees and made sure customers were served promptly. Responsible for closing and opening the store, counting and handling money, and sanitation of the serving area. Once my degree was completed, pursued a role in the company's head office where I would continue to use the experience I had acquired as a customer facing employee.
