About Rossana Mahvi

Rossana Mahvi is a Co-Founder of WayFinder Education, Creating and Sustaining Equitable Learning Communities at WayFinder Education. She possess expertise in curriculum design, staff development, community outreach, teaching, lesson planning and 19 more skills. She is proficient in Persian. Colleagues describe her as "Rossana is without a doubt, one of the best teachers that I have ever worked with. She actively engages her students in hands-on learning activities while maintaining a positive learning environment that encourages both academic and social/emotional growth. Her dedication to her students achievement is clearly demonstrated in her teaching styles by looking at the differentiation that she incorporates daily, the tutoring program that she runs with small groups of students from her class on the weekends, and the accommodations that she makes for their success - even when it is not dictated by an IEP. In a classroom with severe behavior challenges, Rossana maintains strong classroom management and effectively resolves/helps her students resolve conflicts that arise. Students know Ms. Mahvi as an energetic teacher and leader. Her past students continue to look to her for support and guidance and many students within the school have sought out her help for social or math related problems as she is well-known for being able to help students with these topics. In a school that does not have the funds or time to offer a large number of sports and extra-curricular activities, Ms. Mahvi leads the Spirit Squad, helps with SGA and other extra-curriculars, and often helps her class develop routines and songs that can be shared during all-school assemblies. Additionally, she is a great strength among our staff. As the leader for the PLC's in her grade band, she helps other teachers to become data-driven in their task to educate our students. Her ability to see what is needed and to adapt to those tasks make her an invaluable part of our team. While she is only in her second year of teaching, she took on a teaching fellow and has worked closely to help her develop her skills as a new teacher. I would highly recommend Rossana for any position she pursues as I believe her enthusiasm, strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and commitment to education, as well as the success of those she works with, would allow her to work in many capacities within education."
