The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is an investment promotion agency with overall responsibility for attracting investment into the Kingdom of Bahrain, supporting initiatives that enhance the investment climate.Chaired by HRH The Crown Prince and Prime Minister, our remit is to develop the Kingdom's economy through inward investment and high-value job creation. We achieve this by focusing on key sectors, including Financial Services, ICT, Manufacturing, Tourism, Education and Healthcare. My role within the EDB is to support European companies in their international expansion, providing project and key global account management support.

Scottish Development International is Scotland’s national trade and inward investment agency. Whether that’s supporting your investment in Scotland, or supporting partnerships with Scottish companies. Due to an organisation-wide restructuring, I was transferred to a role as an International Specialist working in the Lead Generation directorate of Scottish Development International in 2018.This role primarily included engaging with prospective investors at the initial stage of the sales process and developing the lead to a point where it can be handed over to Business Development colleagues in order to progress further. My role was multi-sectoral, however, I was assigned to lead on Tourism campaigns of activity, further to my expertise and connections in my previous role.

Building on my experience working in the Tourism Sector, I joined Scottish Development International's Tourism Inward Investment Team in 2017, with a remit to bring foreign direct investment to Scotland. My main focus was on liaising with overseas investors, operators and developers within the hotel and leisure industry, selling the Scotland proposition and developing projects in the country across our key destinations and rural areas. The scope of this role ranged from initial lead generation at events, using tools or through undertaking research, to ultimate project delivery in terms of working with Local Authority Planning Team’s, property agents, local developers and land-owners, through to Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) engagement.I also managed SDI’s presence at several key hotel industry events across Europe and the Middle East, with full budget responsibilities for each. As part of this role, I was also accountable for delivering inward visits with companies and groups looking to visit Scotland as part of a wider investment opportunity.

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's national economic development agency and a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.I joined Scottish Enterprise's Tourism Sector Team in 2014 as a Senior Administrator, primarily supporting the Directorate on Tourism industry projects, events management and general admin. During my time within this team I also completed the BA in Business & Enterprise programme at Edinburgh Napier University.

I began my career at Scottish Enterprise upon joining as 1 of 20 Modern Apprentices that were recruited as part of the inaugural SE Apprenticeship Programme.
