Finance Manager for the Jetties and Nearshore Marine Business Unit which traded predominately as the BAM Clough Joint Venture (BCJV). BCJV is a JV between Clough Ltd and the Royal BAM Group of Holland. The JV specialises in the construction of Marine Jetties in the LNG, Mining and Minerals sectors. The JV completed A$1.2bn in work spread across the PNG LNG Jetty Project, the Wheatstone Jetty Project in Onslow, the Ichthys Jetty Project and the Ichthys MOF Project in Darwin and the AP5 Wharf project in Port Hedland.Key Achievements:• Successful set up of the BAM Clough JV Finance function from a zero base to support a thriving business worth $1.2bn.• Successful recruitment and development of a motivated Finance team to lead the projects and support the central JV.• Active participation in the investment proposals for the construction and acquisition of $70m in Capex including a Jack Up Barge fabricated and constructed in China.• Successful set up of a complex project that ran jointly out of Brisbane and PNG. This project has since been successfully completed with the granting of tax clearance by the IRC in PNG.• Successful FX risk management program through a hedge book worth in excess of $150m and the placement of internal measures to capture risks going forward so that they can be effectively mitigated.• Establishing myself as an active member of the JV management team through active participation at JV Management meetings and monthly Project Reviews. • Active participation with the JV business development team that lead to successfully winning further project work.

Project Finance Manager on the Boddington Gold Mine Redevelopment Project which was an EPCM Project conducted in JV between Clough Ltd, Murray & Roberts of South Africa and Aker Solutions Australia (AKCMR JV) to redevelop the Boddington Gold Mine 130 kms south of Perth for Newmont Mines Ltd. The value of the EPCM was in excess of A$4bn. The EPCM was run from the JV Project Office in Central Perth with additional project locations in Santiago, Chile, Melbourne and the Boddington Mine Site. At the time the Boddington Mine was the largest gold mine in the Southern Hemisphere.Key Achievements:• Implementing all finance systems and processes from a zero base on the project.• Putting into place a set of Finance Procedures to drive the financial operations of the project in multiple locations including Santiago and the Boddington mine site.• Recruiting and developing a highly motivated and effective Finance Team.• Assistance with the development of a database to capture all man hours on the project that calculated accurately the Client Receivables and Partner Payables in line with a complex Contract and JV agreement. • Gaining and maintaining the confidence of the Project Management team, the Project Sponsors and the Client.• Successful management of complex Project Tax issues including FBT, WHT and GST.• Development of various JV financial models to assist with neutral funding, forecasting and budgeting in multiple currencies to assist with Client cash calls and JV financial management. • Putting in place processes to manage the expense payments and tax arrangements of an operation to transport 300 people to and from the Boddington Site daily at the height of the construction phase.
