Current• Developmentally shape and content edit books and related resources, including booklets and brochures • Copyedit book manuscripts and proofread books in design layout • Work closely with authors, freelance and consulting editors, and topic experts at various stages of books’ development, revision, and production • Assist in evaluating book manuscript inquiries and proposals• Create and maintain book production schedules in conjunction with the Books and Creative Services teams• Collaborate with the Creative Services and Books teams as well as vendors to inform and advise on books’ cover and interior design • Facilitate with author care and related activities• Participate in quality assurance reviews of e-books in collaboration with the Books and Creative Services teams • Write, copyedit, and proofread book-related copy for in-house and distributor marketing campaigns, including back cover copy, catalogs, emails, newsletter blurbs, print ads, webpages, and social media• Identify and coordinate outreach for book endorsements• Create and maintain book-related webpages and product records on the organization’s website and online store • Provide planning support for books-related features at the organization’s biannual conferences, including sessions, exhibit hall shop setup, and promotional collateral • Attend conferences to assist in coordinating book-related sessions and provide content knowledge and support in the exhibit hall shop • Implemented and continue to oversee updates to the international rights guide • Moderate book-related webinars • Coordinate and issue various book-related legal documentation, including third-party permissions, author contribution contracts, photography licenses, consultant services agreements, and endorsement releases • Register all books with the US Copyright Office and Cataloging in Publication
