Radio Transmission System (RTS) Project - delivered the most frequent train service in the UK Designed the VHF Radio Transmission System (RTS) for LU Victoria Line signaling upgrade and planned the SSL radio coverage network; requirements capture, FDS, detailed designs & schematics, survey and test procedures, method statements, risk assessments, standards compliance matrices Developed the RF combining, filtering and RFoF repeating solutions; calculated link budgets, noise & intermodulation products, planned the VHF Band III frequency coverage and modelled the VHF signal propagation across London, using EDX SignalPro® with clutter data collected from site surveys Integrated the RTS with fixed TDMA GFSK radio base stations and train-borne mobile units, Westinghouse signaling equipment and the RF “leaky-feeder” DAS and antenna network Prototyped train antennas, a UHF cable integrity system, carried out FATs, managed suppliers, supervised prototyping and production, gained OEM equipment approvals; EMC, ETSI and LU non-functional standards - environmental, shock & vibration RF design validation and signaling trials on the Bombardier test track in DerbyLimehouse Link Tunnel Communications Project Designed the confined-space radio-communication DAS system for the TfL Limehouse Link Tunnel Communications Project, comprising: VHF/UHF PMR and TETRA for the Emergency Services, London Bus and Tunnel Maintenance; AM, FM & DAB domestic radio rebroadcast with voice-break-in (VBI); GSM, PCN & UMTS cellular rebroadcastSerco Docklands Light Rail (DLR) Mobile Radio Communications Project Commissioned the Serco Docklands Light Rail (DLR) UHF mobile-radio and fibre-optic repeating system A505 Baldock Bypass Tunnel Communications Project Designed, tested, commissioned and delivered the Baldock Bypass Tunnel VHF/UHF PMR & TETRA emergency services and GSM communications rebroadcast system
