RNLI Fire Risk Assessor: As a fire risk assessor for the RNLI, my role involves meticulously evaluating RNLI buildings and spaces to identify potential fire hazards. I assess factors such as layout, construction materials, and fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. I document my findings, provide recommendations for improvement, and offer education and training on fire safety practices. My goal is to enhance overall safety by mitigating risks and promoting effective emergency preparedness within the RNLI.Lifeboat Crew Member: As a dedicated volunteer, I am part of the backbone of lifeboat crews, responding instantly to emergencies at sea. Hailing from diverse backgrounds, we sacrifice personal time and comfort to safeguard lives. Answering the call 24/7, 365 days a year, we leave behind our families, beds, and work commitments. Working alongside the coxswain or helm, we operate lifeboats during rescues, addressing the essential and sometimes perilous nature of our work. In addition to our rescue missions, we undergo regular training in boat handling, radio communications, casualty care, navigation, and radar. The RNLI boasts 4,600 volunteer crew members, and I am proud to be part of this dedicated team that includes 8% women, serving across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

As a firefighter, I'm dedicated to responding swiftly and effectively to emergencies. My role involves extinguishing fires, conducting rescues, emergency planning, community fire safety, managing staff, giving instruction and training and providing medical assistance when needed. I undergo rigorous training to handle various situations and ensure public safety. With a commitment, passion and service, I work as part of a team to protect lives, property, and communities from the devastating impact of fires and emergencies.
