Assistant Financial Controller (Sheffield)*Sheffield site budget and forecast preparation, including the introduction of functional budgeting to encourage greater responsibility for costs management. *Business partnering support to all areas of the business supporting continuous improvement projects, preparation of quotes for new business, and capex requests *Product margin analysis, identifying low margin product groups for in need of process improvement. Further analysis on these products to identify route cause of the low margin, using a tool I developed. * Planning & resource project with the Technical and Operations teams to remap all existing product routes, to improve consistency of operations and resources within the ERP to facilitate improved production planning.*Improved efficiency of finance processes by automating the formatting and importing of data extracted from the ERP system, through use of macros within excel. *Responsible for cash flow management ensuring we stay within our overdraft facility, and ensuring key suppliers are paid on time. *One direct report plus mentoring and assisting the rest of the Finance team as required. *Deputise for the Financial Controller, assuming the majority of their responsibilities in their absence. Corporate Analyst (Global)*Development of Management Reporting pack for the new PE owners, focusing on the Balance Sheet, Cash flow and Working Capital aspects. *Development of Gold Standard business review deck, generated from Hyperion to ensure consistency of reviews, and alignment with Global KPI's. Focusing on lean finance and controllable costs. *Part of global Equity Value Creation team, focused on improving Contribution Margin and Working Capital. Including development of Decision tree process to review low contribution customers. *Business Partnering presentation at Global Finance conference.

* Reporting of monthly accounts, quarterly management accounts and budgets, following review of information prepared by Site Accountants. Providing commentary on significant variances form forecasts and prior year.* Provision of technical guidance on finance matters including, FRS 101 implementation, revenue recognition, onerous contracts and impairment reviews.* Review of month end close process and purchase to pay processes, identifying potential weaknesses and making recommendations for improvement.* Review and update of management information, including incorporating a visual approach to the presentation of results.* iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts for all UK entities within the group.* Preparation of Corporation Tax packs, including GL analysis.* Preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS

* Design and presentation of risk management reporting information to the Operations Board weekly to manage the financial risks of the business.* Preparation of quarterly forecasting and budgeting, including updating and maintaining the budget model.* Adhoc projects such as: design and implementation of customer credit assessment methodology and model, design of model for dynamically flexing commodity limits based on current market price, financial assessment of business improvement projects.* Documentation of procedures such as Order to Cash and Treasury, including documentation of key controls, and identifying areas for improvement.* Short term cash flow forecasting to ensure overdraft position is not breached. Management of Euro account, ensuring adequate funds to meet outflows in Euros.* Main point of contact for internal and external audit, ensuring all audit requests are collated in line with the timetable.* Other regular tasks including commodity trade reconciliations, commodity position monitoring, credit monitoring, new customer set up and authorisation of payment run.* Responsible for overseeing the work of the Treasury Assistant.

* Audit engagements in a variety of industries including food processing, manufacturing, and brewing, including clients listed on the FTSE. Experience of reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP (including SOX).* Direct liaison with the client arranging all aspects of the audit and dealing with ad hoc client technical queries, such as accounting for transactions new to the client.* Leading internal meetings to discuss audit strategy and approach, in addition to client meetings to discuss the results of the audit.* Responsible for supervising and coaching the on site audit team and ensuring EY methodology is followed, and work is completed to a high standard.* Involved in Initial Public Offerings of clients, including the conversion to IFRS.

* Lead instructor on the week long 'Introduction to Audit' and the follow-up course 'Developing Audit Knowledge' training courses aimed at graduates, which included presenting material, guiding participants through exercises and answering questions.

* Employed as an audit senior, spending around 75% of my time engaged on audits and the remainder on accounts preparation or ad-hoc assignments.* Producing year end financial statements for individual companies and consolidated financial statements for groups of companies, in accordance with both UK GAAP and IFRS.* Preparing corporation tax computations for submission to HMRC for all accounts preparation and audit assignments.
