About Ross Mathison
I’m an Investment Manager interested in long-term investing in companies that can compound their earnings for the next decade and beyond. I’m not the type of investor who grew up reading the Financial Times in primary school; I needed to go through a slightly meandering path to uncover this gem of a role. It then took me the best part of a decade to fine-tune my investment approach and settle in a philosophy, process, and team where I feel I can add the most value. One offshoot from my day job is my role as a Trustee at the Scottish children’s charity, Aberlour. It’s very rewarding to contribute in a small way to the great work they are doing, and it’s also very interesting from the perspective of being on a board and observing through a different lens how a board and an executive team operate and interact.Our clients have worked hard to build up the assets which we have been entrusted to invest on their behalf, and my aim through LinkedIn is to provide a small window into how we go about selecting companies to invest in and building portfolios.
