Reporting directly to the global connectors Engineering Director, my primary roles are to oversee New Product Development team and managing the environmental test laboratory. Working closely with global teams within TE, we strive to provide innovative design solutions for our customers, to support in-house and sub contracted manufacturing.The typical products that I am responsible are connectors for extreme environment - such as autosport, aerospace, defence and marine.The products are precision engineeed to meet strict performance requirements. The responsibility for design projects includes all aspects of the NPD cycle from capturing detailed requirements, through to CAE analysis, drafting, validation testing and management through to production handover.

Product design / CAD consultancy, focussing on rapid product development as well as developing product concepts & visualisations for investment.

Having developed over 350 products, John Ewans Design are a long-established consultancy with a diverse range of clients. Clients cover all product sectors, from high-end audio systems to transportation, and from medical devices to sports accessories.Primary roles as a senior product designer covered concept design, design for manufacture and new business development.

I set up Chrome Design as an Industrial Design consultancy in 2010, working for a range of clients on the development of various products including custom motorcycle accessories and security products. This included initial design research through to concept design, design development, prototyping large-scale prototypes and support for manufacture.

A client-facing role, working on the design and development of a range of products from high-volume consumer goods and complex user interfaces to niche high-tech product solutions.My key role was as an Industrial Designer, taking products from brief through to manufacture. The main focus area during my time at QinetiQ was to ensure that the products we designed were easy to use whilst using an aesthetic that enhances the perceived product or brand value.Published as sole / joint inventor on several patents. Input into all stages of the product development cycle, from initial customer interaction and project bid development, concept design and design engineering, through to managing multi-disciplinary teams and negotiating with suppliers / manufacturers.Other key roles include product development for internal Technical R&D groups, design strategy roadmapping and technology-transfer design studies.
