Managing/working within an optimized Agile construct of Scrum & Kanban where my team and I are currently redefining the boundaries of Site Reliability Engineering’s mission to close/federate/automate all “monitoring gaps” across our access to care and digital product portfolios. We are both, gentrifying and rationalizing (selectively optimizing while releasing disparate/redundant technologies) the current Monitoring ("tools") portfolio through implementation of meticulously vetted (precision) solutions. Continually exploiting the extended capabilities of both New Relic & Dynatrace’s, Application Performance Management (APM) platform within Software Engineering and underpinning Operations. My team and I continue to iterate on each instrumentation/orchestration provided a federated monitoring approach grounded in enablement, self-service and automation across the observable, full stack and underpinning CI/CD pipeline. Responsible for the development of Cigna’s Federated Monitoring application, Fedmon was a PCF, now OpenShift java application that leverages React as it UI, Springboot as its Middleware and MongoDB as the repository (data store). The application augments/compliments Servicenow with a deep set of CI-based configuration APIs integrated with/across our monitoring “tools”. This Federated monitoring platform actuates the automation of all configuration management items, their CI linkages and telemetry-based alignments. Within the Fedmon portal we are developing a REAL TIME application (patent pending) to assist in pinpointing/tracking all phases a Change's (Management) Lifecycle provided the supportive intelligence of the CMDB and associated instrumentation (monitoring). The Change Launchpad provides detailed awareness of Upcoming, In Progress and Closed Changes taking into account the alignment of mapped application dependencies, implementation schedules, monitoring, instrumentation, alerting, suppression within a single self-filtering interface.

Former assignments/projects and associated responsibilities are outlined below: Assignment #1: McGraw-Hill (MH) Global Operations & Infrastructure (GO&I). Rebuilt GO&I’s Business Service Management (formerly BAC) “service monitoring” implementation. Provided extensive input to assist in outlining GO&I’s standard operating procedures (SOPs). Delivered an assessment and project plan that were the cornerstone to the efficiencies realized from this project.Assignment #2: Reviewed and architected MH GO&I’s Application Performance Management implementation. Managed the disciplines associated with Component Test (Architecture), Integration (Performance) Engineering/Testing, Websphere Application Server and Messaging (Middleware) plus Workload Characterization (Capacity Planning)Performance Engineering was reengineered to leverage HP’s Loadrunner, within the Integration Lab to create test scripts (simulating real world transactions and load) to assess application thresholds, performance, response times and capacity. HTTP/S (web and Metaframe/Citrix), CORBA, SQL, Java and Winsock Protocols were utilized. Provided results and recommendations for application and infrastructure recommendation after each engagement. Performance “coding” candidates were provided to Development as were software configuration changes and technology recommendations to Engineering. Hardware alternatives were only provided as a last resort.Resurrected Capacity Planning by personally attending to the day-to-day analysis of KPMG’s core production applications. Leveraged BMC and various other tools to assess the overall performance of current (pre)production systems. Reported on the current and future status of KPMG’s applications while reviewing the financial and technological impacts of server consolidation, architectural changes, performance and ROI. Managed the CT Lab, Component-Test LAB for Architecture to evaluate new technologies under consideration at KPMG. The CTLAB oversaw the firm’s hardware and software “evaluations.” CTLAB maintained at least one model of each server in Production inclusive of the virtualized environments. Storage was provided through a Brocade SAN connected to both EMC Symmetrix and Hitachi Lightning DASD. A simulated network environment was dedicated to the ILAB’s use. The network between the labs and Production were comprised of several Cisco routers switches and content management solutions which were maintained by CTLAB/ILAB staff. Power, Heating and Cooling were also maintained by this team.
