The Bureaux was acquired by Alexander Forbes in January 2004. After acquisition the group decided that to establish a software development division and asked me to head up the new division building on the track record we had from the acquired The Bureaux Ltd.My responsibilities included the daily operations of the IT department. The originalappointment was strategic to expand and create a dynamic IT division within the group. The challenge was to convert the relative low key IT presence to one that is indispensable.We also established the Annuity XML standards for the UK which was adopted the same year. The introduction of full compliance checks (regulated by the FSA – Financial Services Authority) has resulted in credit from the FSA. The IT systems we implemented was key in the acquisition of the company which at that stage already did the back-office admin for many large financial services companies.
