There is a clear need for commercially viable investment to advance an affordable energy transition. Aequatis is focused on developing early adoption hydrogen projects that create affordable pathways for the delivery of carbon free power and fuel systems to industry and ratepayers.

I led principal investing and investment banking activities for the power vertical within the infrastructure and energy group at Macquarie Capital. I generated significant revenue and originated and executed noteworthy principal investment transactions on an entry through exit basis. My activities encompassed all aspects of equity investing, including origination, structuring and representing Macquarie as a board member for principal investments. During my tenure the power group entered numerous advisory mandates and provided acquisition financing commitments of over $4 billion.

I originated debt capital market transactions for the infrastructure and energy group with primary responsibility for the power vertical. In this role, I provided sector-specific private equity sponsors with over a billion dollar in commitments across multiple transactions.➤ Created significant transaction flow in the power and energy space.➤ Cross-sold financing and commodities solutions partnering with both the investment banking and fixed income verticals. ➤ Won a Macquarie Award for successful cross unit engagement, co-ordination, and demonstrated transaction success.

I oversaw, led, and executed broad management, business development, trading and credit structuring activities as part of Credit Suisse’s initiative to build a global carbon markets business. My responsibilities included finalizing emission reduction purchase agreements, ISDA agreements, portfolio securitizations and other emissions related structures, securing credit and risk approvals, as well as briefing institutional investors and corporate clients on global environmental markets.➤ Successfully generated positive structured carbon P&L after CS de-emphasized structured carbon trading during the GFC. ➤ Structured CS’s notional $200 million Clean Energy Portfolio sold to European, Japanese utilities and funds.➤ On the commodities lending and structured origination side, I led planning, development, and execution of a specific commodity group loan book, and worked to restructure credit-intensive commodity hedge positions.

I provided client coverage, product marketing, and transaction origination in addition to managing complex deal processes. Notable transaction experience included execution of Calpine’s debtor-in-possession financing as well as multiple CS “deal-of-the-month” transactions.➤ In this role, I evaluated senior management teams and business plans, negotiated key transaction agreements, reviewed operating plans, analyzed historical and projected financial performance, and conferred with rating agency analysts and investors. Before beginning my finance and energy career, I lived in China, including a stint working at Lucent Technologies in Beijing.
