Worked on Along, a super cool app for strengthening student/teacher relationships. Along was given a 'Special Mention' on the TIME's Best Inventions of 2022 list.

Worked with a number of startups in technical advisory roles. This mostly involved providing feedback on what/how to build, and then helping to build it!

* Head of engineering for Facebook Audience Network, a multi-billion dollar business unit. Accountable for overall business success. Managed a world-class team of 60 engineers.* Built company-wide coaching programs for accelerating engineer growth (two main drivers here: (1) building and maintaining a pool of strong coaches with the skills, support, and motivation to coach effectively, and (2) having the infrastructure to effectively pair coaches with students). Implemented metrics that quantified the effect of these programs. Repeatedly recognized as a thought leader and go-to resource for accelerating and supporting engineer growth.* One of a handful of engineers selected to open Facebook's London engineering office in 2012. Spent 6 years in London hiring and building engineering teams as the office grew from 10 engineers to over 1000. Influenced company strategy to find the right level of local ownership while maintaining alignment with company goals.* Made core engineering contributions to many of Facebook's early systems including extensive CPU optimizations, 3rd party data ingestion infrastructure (ETL), and significant portions of the Open Graph developer API.
