Bob has over 25 years of experience managing and directing all aspects of information technology departments including vendor relations, contract management and budgeting. As a Managing Director with Cornerstone, he heads the Contract Negotiation Services and the Payments Solutions Group. Bob has negotiated contracts with virtually every major technology vendor in the financial services industry and helped clients realize millions of dollars in savings while negotiating new or renewing existing vendor contracts. With his extensive research of payments and industry trends, Bob advises banks and credit unions on how to assess and improve their payments products by recognizing how they are positioned versus peers and provides them with the necessary tools to assess their offerings going forward. Bob is a contributing author to The Cornerstone Report: Benchmarks and Best Practices for Mid-Size Banks. He regularly writes for GonzoBanker, Cornerstone’s industry blog, and he has been published in numerous industry periodicals, including BAI Banking Strategies and CU Management.Prior to Cornerstone, Bob was I.T. Director/CIO for $8 billion Capitol Federal Savings Bank in Topeka, where he led negotiations for the acquisition of over $7.2 million in hardware, software and services as part of a core system replacement. Bob also led the bank through a total refresh of its I.T. infrastructure that involved 17 vendors. Before Capitol Federal, Bob was Technical Services Director at Collective Brands, where he was responsible for purchasing all I.T. hardware and services. He also managed three data centers as well as the Help Desk and Production Control departments. Bob is a Certified Business Continuity Planner by the Disaster Recovery Institute. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Washburn University and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Baker University.
