I apply my teaching and advising skills, along with my psychology background, in my work as a youth empowerment specialist and in my private practice as an holistic counselor. In both roles, I help my clients overcome challenges and achieve personal development goals.Previously, I was a professor of communications and information science at Syracuse University where I designed and taught a curriculum that examined the psychology and cultural dynamics of social media. I am perhaps best known for my popular media studies course on Star Trek, exploring the cultural impact of the series and examining its themes of technology, psychology, leadership, diversity and other aspects of the human experience. I developed a similar course on the British sci-fi series, Doctor Who, and both have been offered to a global audience online.
