UN ECONOMIC & SOCIAL COMMISSION FOR W. ASIA► I authored an impact assessment highlighting the opportunities and challenges of ESFD economic community development projects in Aytaroun.EDUCATION FOR EMPLOYMENT, Washington, DC► With an objective to aid private sector job growth and training in Saudi Arabia, I researched qualitative labor market data on growth sectors and the required skill sets for work entrants.NATIONAL FAMILY SAFETY PROGRAM / UNICEF► While analyzing and developing recommendations to reduce bullying in public schools in Riyadh, I also built the skills of program staff in performing quantitative research. On this European Commission-funded project with a goal of aiding poor communities in Lebanon, I founded and managed a Community Development Unit and various related analytical and strategic projects, coordinating collaboration among experts, fundraising, events, media, and materials. ► I led the design of a landmark strategy still used by government and international organizations as the basis for social and economic development programs, including coordinating 100+ cross-functional experts in developing the strategy for economic activities and social policies across the government, private and educational sector, and multinational organizations. ► By researching topics such as specific markets and business opportunities, I helped increase the knowledge base for social and economic initiatives.► I represented ESFD on the National Committee for the 4th UNDP national human development report for Lebanon.
I managed initiatives aimed at promoting the implementation of UN Global Conference recommendations and mission statements in member countries, focusing on Habitation, Women, Poverty & Population. ► Efforts included the reports and writing of policy statements for approval by governments and NGOs, leading an array of projects promoting the division’s role, and organizing themed conferences and events.
To advance marginalized communities, I conceptualized, spearheaded, and evaluated sustainable development projects, including defining marginalized groups, generating project funding, and selecting execution partners. ► I became the regional grant writing trainer for 4 countries, yielding hundreds of applications from NPOs for project assistance. I also traveled to and influenced Geneva headquarters to allocate a budget for training NPOs proposals.► I planned, funded, and orchestrated a break-through community development project in Lebanon.
