I have developed skills in creating and maintaining plant material, designing and conducting plant pathology and physiology experiments, designing and conducting field trials, analyzing data using both R and SAS software, taking part in the genomic laboratory work such as DNA extraction and PCR, creating high-density genetic map and conducting QTL analysis using the R software and writing scientific literature related to my research. I conduct individual consultations within the Library Writing Services to provide constructive feedback to students on their French writing skills, focusing on grammar, sentence structure, flow, clarity, vocabulary development and cultural transition. I have tutored over 50 students and 100% of the students were extremely satisfied with the help they received. As an intern Research Assistant in applied genomics and rose breeding, I conducted manual hybridizations in the greenhouse, collected phenotypic data in the field, propagated and maintained plant material, collected plant tissue, conducted plant pathology experiments and analyzed data. My goal was to discute the genetic control of traits of major interest for rose breeding based on field data and to assist the rose breeding team in everyday tasks.

I looked at the speed of regrowth in turf grass field and got introduced to turf grass breeding. This research involved field work, phenotyping and statistics.
