Developed a new 3-year IT strategy which adopts new technologies for collaboration, cloud and mobile. The strategy was designed to align with the university’s needs and to challenge the way business is done.Led a restructuring initiative for the ICT sectors to reach a better organizational structure that aligns with the university’s vision. Led the implementation of enterprise projects and portfolio management system to streamline related processes, deliver better value from projects and ensure alignment with strategic goals.Led the business intelligence and data analytics initiative which aims at analyzing data from multiple enterprise and legacy systems to aid in the decision making process.Led an initiative to build an enterprise service bus to connect all university applications to standardize and streamline the development and support activities.

As an academician, my research is primarily focused on resource management issues in ad hoc networks including sensor networks, peer-to-peer networks and RFID systems. In general, I am interested in system design issues in computer networks and network security. Through the process of problem definition, analysis, solution design and evaluation, my work seeks to find new and interesting techniques that can be used to solve challenging problems.I taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Data and Computer Communication, Ad-hoc and Wireless Networks and Fundamentals of Computer Networks for Non-Engnieers.

Responsible for information security, service delivery and web applications.Led the development of the new learning resources and IT strategy as part of KFUPM 2020 strategy.Led the efforts for adopting best practices in information security management and successfully achieved the ISO 27001 certificate. Managed the service delivery team through the adoption of ITIL best practices and developed end-user policies and guidelines.Worked on the e-transformation initiative to automate many of the services that are provided to students, staff and faculty. Introduced new services such as correspondence tracking and digital archiving.

Worked as a Graduate Assistant while continuing for MS degree in Computer Engineering. Assisted in teaching several courses and instructed several labs on Digital Computer Design (2000-2001). Sponsored to continue graduate studies (2001-2009).

Worked as a member of the scientific team in the International Technology Alliance (ITA) project. Developed new resource management algorithms for wireless sensor networks and data collection schemes for RFID systems.
