I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Arctic and Northern Studies, where I am also working as a teaching assistant. My thesis focuses on mining history, boom and bust, and legacies of frontier economies in Northwest Alaska in connection to contemporary mines in Alaska and the Arctic.After I graduate, I hope to obtain a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field, focusing on topics related to mining legacies, frontier economies, site abandonment, boom and bust cycles, and ghost towns in the circumpolar north.
