My duties include handling and finding solutions to any issues that might impact quality or cycle time bottlenecks. I designed full time for my first 6 years at the company and moved to process after that. This is where I found a passion for my job. I was employed as an apprentice and excelled from the beginning. I spent a short time in the training center and soon was sent out to different departments to start getting hands-on experience. I spent time in the toolroom using the large machinery and general tool maintenance. I spent time in the heavy press shop doing running repairs including die pollishing, loading and unloading press tools, problem solving etc., including shift work.I… Show more This is where I found a passion for my job. I designed a range of press tools for production including crop tools, form tools and automatic progression tools which included pneumatic circuits. This was all done on the drawing board before CAD was popular. I saw my creations come to life and run in production which was amazing and very fulfilling.I passed my trade test and decided to accelerate my career by leaving the company after being offered a good position at Fine Stamping manufacturing.
