About Rowan Coe
During my nearly 30 years of work experience, I have learned many things that have helped shape my professional career. Surprisingly, the most important lesson I learned was when unsuccessful in obtaining my first job at 13 years old. I had enquired about the job, was interviewed and thought it went pretty well! When I didn't hear back, I was quite annoyed that I hadn’t been told either way. I was sure I would let candidates know if I was the employer. I called and asked about the progress of my application, and was told the position was filled. I almost said sarcastically, "well thanks for letting me know!" Thankfully I didn't. Instead, I did what I thought was right and thanked her for the opportunity. Good thing I did: the person hired didn’t turn up and I got a call to say the job was mine if I wanted it. I wouldn't have received that call had I gotten angry for not getting a return phone call. I stayed on with that employer for 6 years of 5:30am Sunday starts until she sold the business. This taught me you should always consider the future, and treat customers and employers professionally and with respect, and I have continued this work ethic to this day. Throughout my career I've worked in a variety of positions in different industries: hospitality, cinema, retail, marketing and recruitment. But in all of these I ultimately undertook the same cycle of tasks: analyse the business, identify ways to improve and implement effective changes and then start the whole process again. I have a passion for succeeding and for ensuring I exceed my customers’ expectations. I constantly feed my appetite for information by staying abreast of news across a wide range of industries, whilst also learning about new technologies and how they can improve efficiency. I have a keen eye for detail and try to make sure that everything I do is of a standard well above what is expected.I’m a keen scuba diver, traveller, photographer and aficionado of fine pizza.
