Ceo & FounderVimsy Nov 2015 - Apr 2020Vimsy was an online video management system. It helped small businesses organise, distribute and monetise their video content. Over the course of five years, we acquired customers in the UK, US, Europe and India.I started Vimsy as a way to help my video production customers set up a web portal to easily share their training and event videos. Although the platform was by all measures a success, I realised that I wouldnβt be able to grow the business substantially beyond the startup stage without taking third party investment and giving up my role at Southpoint Films.Towards the end of 2019, it became clear that we needed to make some major changes to the platform to comply with new payments and copyright laws that were being introduced within Europe. On top of that, several larger video hosting platforms started adding functionality similar to Vimsy, which made it harder to compete. I made the decision to cut my losses and close Vimsy so that I could focus solely on Southpoint Films, since video production was my primary passion. -
