• Researching and applying local government zoning regulations in geospatial analysis to find permissible sites for new digital billboards• Acquiring geospatial zoning data on a multi-state-wide level, and integrating into a seamless layer. Current status: the entire east coast, from Florida to New Hampshire, Upper Midwest (OH, MI, & WI), and West Coast & Mountain West completed and in use. • Perform statistical market analysis on billboard location, pricing & impressions. • Developing a software package to parse through zoning ordinances and automatically extract information such as which zones billboards are permitted, spacing requirements between billboards, maximum height & size, and so forth.

Conducted site selection research for public-private partnership initiatives incorporating digital signage. Identified municipal and community needs and desired facilities/amenities, initially through extensive readings of meeting minutes, and subsequently utilizing text analytics to quickly identify unique and/or recurring topics and problems of concern to the locality. Site selection research was conducted primarily using private and public sector geospatial data, such as parcel ownership data, traffic counts, conservation and natural hazard areas, and census bureau data. Research also included title and deed searches.

Conducted research, data discovery, extraction, transformation, analysis and modeling, utilizing a wide range of techniques and software packages. Frequently used software included QGIS, Matlab, Tableau, and InVision. Created web crawlers/scrapers to extract difficult to obtain data sets. Utilized RESTful APIs to query or extract data in json or geojson formats. Created interactive web maps, infographics, and other visuals to accompany my written reports and findings on a wide range of topics of interest to the public.Designed and deployed surveys and public research polls to obtain original data where needed. Numerous projects involved massively large data sets, including upward of 1-10 million records. Saw projects through from conception to publication. Responded to media inquiries, gave interviews, performed all data analysis and writing tasks.

Created integrated database of property tax data (including both geospatial and tabular data) for all available US jurisdictions. Developed integrated web mapping/database application using both Google and Amazon Web Services APIs.Supervised and worked closely with a small team, including a GIS specialist, software developer and web designer. Manipulated geospatial data using Matlab scripts. Data mining and manipulaton using various techniques and platforms (Open Refine, Google BigQuery, SQL) GIS / Mapping. Designed and developed software package for modelling tax lien auctions. Utilized MATLAB and Ruby to run multiple linear regression analysis of historical auction results and simulate hypothetical future auctions. Large-scale data sets from Florida's counties used for analysis. Error metrics obtained using simulated runs of historical auctions. Wrote white paper on software and model (known as Racepoint)
