Since co-creating the social lean canvas in 2013, I have used it one-on-one with hundreds of social enterprises, impact driven startups, transitioning not-for-profits and large corporates. The canvas has in turn been used by thousands of other organisations around the world including enterprises, universities, government, funders, investors, accelerators etc. Developing a successful business model that also integrates an impact model that can meaningfully change the world is really complex and difficult. We desperately need a shareable common language for making sense of and modelling these new forms of impact driven business. Using the SLC as a foundation, we have developed a shareable common language that weaves "purpose" & "impact" together with modern startup methods.
