Rowdy Smith is a high-impact business leader whose expertise lies at the nexus of finance, marketing, commercial and global strategy. Rowdy began his career in public accounting before joining DuPont’s agribusiness division in Des Moines, IA, where he eventually took on financial leadership of a $1 billion organization during a time of rapid growth. His background in finance gave him a solid grounding in subsequent leadership roles across marketing, commercial and platform strategy for DuPont’s seed and crop protection businesses. At the corporate level, he was also part of the M&A team and the integration lead behind the historic Dow DuPont merger in 2015. Following the eventual spin-off into Corteva Agriscience, Rowdy further strengthened the company’s market leadership in seed treatments as Global Portfolio Leader of its Seed Applied Technologies business. The ability to scrutinize organizational health from multiple angles underpins his varied achievements here, from dramatic top and bottomline growth to market share expansion, inking of strategic partnerships and entry into new segments. Rowdy graduated summa cum laude with a BS (Public Accounting) from Northwest Missouri State University and obtained his CPA in 1999. In recent years, he has also completed several executive courses at Yale School of Management and The Wharton School. He served six years in the United States Navy and Nebraska Army National Guard before receiving an honorable discharge.
