I started my printing career back in 1994. First working in the mail room, and then filled-in as needed, working on numerous machines within the print shop. During that 8 years, I learned every aspect of production coordination, design, file preparation, film imaging, proofing, printing, bindery, mailing, and shipping of all types of print collateral. After those 8 years, I wanted to further opportunities to expand my knowledge within customer relations. In 2003, Texas Tech University presented an opportunity to work as a sales coordinator for their in-house printing facility. During those 3 years, I worked closely with management to increase revenue, cut expenses, and improve the overall work flow. I also worked directly with customers for estimates, scheduling, quality control, and deadline accuracy. With increased revenue of 2 million dollars annually or 200% annual revenue increase, competitors started to take notice. In 2006, I was then presented an opportunity to work for the largest commercial printing company within this region, Copy Craft Printers. Almost 10 years later we have had a name change (Slate Group), added numerous digital and offset equipment/upgrades, including wide format, embroidery, screen printing, and promotional items. With annual sales in excess of 35 million, there isn't much we cannot do!
