I started volunteering for the Ocean Conservation Trust - Blue Meadows during the summer, helping with the cultivation process of seagrass which is then taken out into the ocean to be planted. The role involves measuring the growth of the seagrass weekly, cleaning the bunds that they are growing in by changing the water, feeding the plants and ensuring general maintenance of the poly tunnel. I will be returning to the role over the Christmas period where the new batch of seeds have been brought in to be cultivated.

I am a part time volunteer with Sarah at the Brixham Seal project. The role involves assisting with identification of local seals around the harbour and surrounding areas, attending events for public engagement and education about the importance of marine wildlife, with emphasis on how to ensure safety for both the public and the seals. I have also been able to attend BDMLR callouts to marine life in distress.

I have been working at the Guardhouse Cafe for over 3 years now and throughout my time I have trained as a barista whilst also developing crucial front of house skills in the customer facing part of the role. I work during my free time when I am home from University.
