Throughout my extensive time with the NSW Police Force I have gained many transferrable and useful skills and attributes, attaining the rank of Detective Senior Constable. Working alongside my community I liaised with key groups and individuals, taking the time to learn and identify areas and locations where crime was more prevalent. I learnt valuable skills in gathering, recoding and analysing intelligence with the goal of achieving community safety and reducing crime rates, identifying initiatives and providing crime prevention advice. I attended public and social events including public meetings, processions, trade disputes and strikes, my presence there was to keep the peace and handle any unlawful behaviour. I managed any hazardous situations effectively and in accordance with safety protocols. An aspect of my role which was necessary for the success of the department was to supervise, train, mentor and develop team members to become the very best constables and serve the community. My constable duties also included, taking statements, gathering evidence for initial investigations all the while complying with relevant legal requirements.As part of my investigations I conducted interviews with suspects, victims and witnesses ascertaining facts and evidence. I conducted arrests with regard for human rights, security and health and safety of the detained individuals, members of the public, colleagues and self. Along with the physical elements of my duties I also prepared concise and organised crime reports and presented cases files to senior officers for use with investigations. On occasions my presence at court and hearings was required to give factual and clear evidence. During my tenure, I received a number of Awards from both the NSW and Victorian police forces, in addition to personal recognition from various members of the public for my professionalism, compassion and valuable contribution.

In my role as an Assistant Store Manager, I identified current and future customer requirements, ensured availability of merchandise and services, and helped to maintain the stability and reputation of the store. Furthermore, I secured merchandise, protected employees and customers, and used information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning. Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety were met, resolving health and safety, legal, and security issues, and accurately handling payment and receipting were all significant features of my position. Further responsibilities included delivering high level quality customer service, managing the productivity of the sales team, cultivating a successful environment, managing and motivating the team, and analysing trends to facilitate planning.I responded to customer complaints and comments and liaised with Optus to ensure their resolution. On a regular basis, I toured the sales floor, talked to colleagues and customers, and resolved urgent issues. In addition, I maintained awareness of market trends in the industry, understood forthcoming customer requirements and monitored what local competitors were doing. Finally, the manager resigned during my tenure, so, in conjunction with another member of staff, I took over the responsibilities of the manager role ensuring that we continued to provide uninterrupted service to our customers.
