Alongside all the things that go with a family + nonagenarian aunt (now 106), animals and others, I have also been an independent trustee of our local Steiner school, a parish councillor and part of the Transition network.

3 four year terms as District representative for Forest Row. The first Sustainability Champion for WDC, and Cabinet member with responsibility for Waste Management at the time WDC, in partnership with ESCC, EBC, RCD and HBC started the Joint Waste Partnership and outsourced their bin collection and recycling service.Elected in 2003, 2011 and 2015. Defeated by Green Party in 2007 and 2019 along with the irony of their candidate recognising me publicly as the 'greenest councillor WDC had'! Stood as an Independent in the 2023 local elections for WDC and improved my share of the vote from 2019 when I was a party candidate. During this time I have also been very involved locally with Fairtrade, the Transition towns movement, and community startups - Car hire, bike hire, a community fridge, second hand shop, new youth centre and more..

Specialised in network industry transformation, privatisation, acquisition and merger and regulation with Coopers & Lybrand consulting, then, following a break and their merger moved into organisation development and change management, mainly in the oil and gas sector, started with PWC consulting and moved to IBM on the acquisition. Worked for clients such as Shell, Amerada Hess, Sainsbury's, Aon, NHS and London Underground and many others on a range of transformations.

Started with Coopers, spent 2 years working in London as a frustrated world traveller, then worked abroad on many projects, usually electricity sector privatisation - in Poland, Ukraine, Indonesia, Columbia, Hungary, telco acquisition in Spain, went on maternity leave, returned to PwC consulting, went on maternity leave, returned to IBM Consulting...along with a career break to be a primary school teacher in the late 90's when the travel had become too much!

Took my PGCE as part of the first year of the Wandsworth schools SCITT scheme based at Roehampton University. Taught for a year and a half at Roehampton before having to make the decision to return to Coopers (I had stretched my career break as long as it would go!). Experienced Ofsted, teaching in a one form entry CoE school in a relatively deprived area, responsible for IT, history and RE subjects within the school. Yes, that means all the IT systems, the purchasing of hardware and software, building and running the school website and all that IT at the end of the 90s entailed.
