Early career Occupational Therapist, I am passionate about client/patient care and advocacy. I believe in holistic practice and am trained to build a therapeutic relationship with clients. My first placement was in hand therapy which provided a good insight into the holistic nature of occupational therapy. My second placement was within independent occupational therapy practice which focused on advocacy and policy change and treatment of children and adults with energy limiting conditions although I also had contact with people with dyspraxia and traumatic brain injury. Working in an acute mental health inpatient setting for my third placement cemented my passion for working within a mental health setting.I was a member of the RCOT Carnduff Learner Forum, new forum designed to link RCOT with UK learners to inform on current issues within occupational therapy education. Within this forum, I have presented at RCOT conference and engaged in quarterly meetings.Prior to entering dentistry, from the age of 18, I held an array of positions across customer service and call centres, culminating in a team leader position and am vastly experienced in this field. I am experienced and confident in customer service, training and people management.My strong background in customer service means that I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Many of my patients have commented that I made them feel very comfortable undergoing periodontal treatment. I am especially experienced in acclimatising nervous and phobic patients.I feel that teamwork is very important in every position and every decision is made in the best interests of the client/patient. I am always willing to learn new skills and enjoy being challenged. Whilst studying for my A/S level in Information and Communication Technology, I gained vast knowledge of this subject and am fully computer literate. I have also worked with several different dental operating systems such as Exact, DMICP, R4, Arthur and Salud and adapt quickly to new systems. I have used SYSTMONE and RIO also. In my current position, I have become proficient in the use of salesforce. I am seeking a remote/remote first or hybrid position at present with no more that 30 hours.
