Answered incoming calls, relayed insurance quotes, and wrote auto and personal articles policies. In addition, I would file claims for both auto and home in the event of a damage claim.

As financial coordinator, I performed routine accounts receivables and collection functions including generating bills, posting payments to the general ledger accounting system, and monitoring collections from individual customers and their insurance carriers. I was responsible for generating financial and operations reports. The financial reports require presenting month-end and corporate year-end close-out data to the office administrator and practice physicians. The regular operations report that I compiled track statistics such as patient count, referral sources, insurance types, medical procedures and the resulting diagnosis which is used to monitor and tune the effectiveness of office operations.Before each surgery, I entered patient demographics, pre-certification tasks, and prior authorization with insurance companies. Often this involved writing letters of pre-determination to insurance carriers’ Medical Directors outlining the medical necessity associated with the scheduled surgery. For each letter, I correlated all associated medical documentation (lab results, physician’s opinions, X-rays, photographs, and prior medical records).I later processed insurance claim forms and attached supporting medical documentation and monitored the status of pending claims for payment.My role provided daily integration with patients during their check-out as I answered all insurance and billing questions, received payment for services, and scheduled future appointments as needed.
