My responsibilities include: in the absence of the charge nurse, I cover that position during the day shift. From 4 pm to closing, I am in charge of the evening clinics. I provide supervision to Medical Assistants,monitor patient flow and perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, wound care, patient triage as well as assisting providers with minor procedures. I also provide teaching and management of anti-coagulation services. I carry my own schedule 5 days a week where I see patients for nursing visits, medication reconciliation, teaching and injection instruction. In the absence of the RN case manager, I field phone calls and manage the case management for that provider's panel of patients. I attend ongoing in-services on HIV and STD care and treatment. I am the nurse faculty member on the Transgender Health team, providing consulting services to other community health centers around the country.

I was a nurse case-manager for high risk, enhanced care patients. I delivered skilled nursing care in the patient's home as prescribed by their Medical Team. Care involved assessing medical conditions, wound care, medication management, phlebotomy, IV therapy; developing and implementing a plan of care that involved the patient, medical team, families and community providers .
