I'm Roxy, a language justice interpreter, community organizer and cultural worker who is invested in community empowerment and social change.Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have made a few roles to transition and adapt to the different needs in our communities which included equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. Prior to 2021, I have organized communities and worked on policy advocacy for 5 years. Some communities I have organized with are Chinese NYCHA tenants in Queensbridge Houses and rent-stabilized tenants in Manhattan Chinatown of New York City, and any community members that I have come to know since my time in New York City. Aside from neighborhood-based organizing, I have also provided interpretation and translation for community organizations, city administered hearings, paralegal assistance among other settings. I am a language justice trainer and member of the Gongming Collective - a Chinese-speaking interpreters' Collective based in New York City that works towards language justice by supporting multilingual spaces.
