Working in the Snyder Lab, our goal is to establish a pre-cancer atlas of colorectal cancer using Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) as a model. We are contributing research to two larger consortia - Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN) and Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP), both of which aim to construct maps of cancerous and healthy cells in the body.My role in the project is to perform wet lab experiments, including library construction from DNA and RNA, DNA and RNA extractions, and nuclei isolation. I also collect, preserve, and document the metadata of fresh tissue samples from patients' endoscopies and colectomies. For data analysis, I utilize R.In addition to the FAP Pre-Cancer Atlas project, I also work on the Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC) project, which examines the molecular changes that occur in the body following exercise and how our health is subsequently affected. Protein quantification, ATACseq, and RNA extractions are performed on a high-throughput level using Biomek automated workstations.

As a director of the youth programs, I managed a 20+ person team and coordinated with Parks and Rec departments across San Mateo county to plan youth programs and camps for children ages 5-13. Additionally, I spent a year and a half setting routes catering to climbers across all experience levels.

Natera is a genetic testing company with applications in cancer and pre-natal screening. My role in this company was to submit patient and sample information to Natera database in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring sensitive handling of PHI.
