I am a founding member of the parent organization, Social Media Club. (Http://www.socialmediaclub.org) and have launched the Hawaii chapter. We have monthly meetings and visitors are invited to join us. The Social Media Club exists to develop best practices in using social networks and new media for business use. It was founded by Chris Heuer and Kristie Wells in San Francisco.

I am the founder and producer of Podcamp + Wordcamp Hawaii, held in 2008. We began discussing this even in 2006 and the time has come for Hawaii to hold it's own Podcamp (and WordCamp too!) event.Podcamps are unconferences, that bring together students and experts of new media, blogging, and social networks to learn from each other and create media.
