Hungry for another summer opportunity after taking an online class and teaching San Jose youth at The First Tee of Silicon Valley, Matta was put into contact with a close family friend in Singapore who helped her apply to three web agencies in the area. After offering a look at her portfolio from her freshman year at Academy of Art, ButterScotch reached out and accepted. "I'm really proud of Roxanne and what she's done this summer," head coach Elaine Harris said. "Taking this opportunity and being able to fit in everything is indicative of her energy level and enthusiasm for life. This golf team has produced many impressive artist-athletes and Roxanne is really furthering that culture of worldly artists." With a recent decision to expand its brand, ButterScotch will be opening local coffee shops and a starting a new clothing line, giving Matta many design responsibilities as part of the announcement. She can now be found working on newsletters, online marketing, and thoughtful welcome cards that will be inside the packaging consumers receive from the clothing line. It seems only fitting that Matta would be working for an agency with a "consumptive" theme, highlighting her passion for food and design which originally led her to apply to Academy of Art University originally with food photography in mind. Matta would eventually decide to pursue Web Design & New Media and has since enjoyed her immersion in the major. Matta developed on the golf course as well in 2013-14. In a strong freshman campaign with ART U, Matta offered three Top 20 finishes, delivering her best tournament score as part of a second-place team finish in late February at the California Baptist Invitational. She would make important contributions on a senior-laden team while gaining valuable guidance towards the future. Soaring ahead like a strong drive off the tee, Matta has already put herself in a great position for professional success as her sophomore year approaches."
