Automated Envelope Air Sealing

As Engineering Project Manager in Research and Development, Roxanne was responsible for the delivery of new product developments, product improvements and management of the product certification program. Roxanne lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technologists and support staff to meet project objectives. While working to maintain and improve product performance she became an expert on the thermal performance of glazing systems. Roxanne consulted with designers, contractors and owners on the thermal performance characteristics of glazing systems as related to LEED® and other sustainable building projects. In 2005 Roxanne joined Kohltech International Ltd. to manage the automation program for the window manufacturing facility located in Debert, NS. The focus of her work was specification, selection and process integration of automation systems to improve process and quality. While in this role she gravitated towards Research and Development and led her first major product introduction project in 2006. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail were recognized and Roxanne was named Project Manager of R&D in 2007. At the same time she took stewardship of an internal program to leverage the Canadian Revenue Agency’s SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) program.

Roxanne was the principal investigator into the effects of temperature on the physical properties of biodiesel fuels. The objective was to further research of the combustion properties of Biodiesel fuels through the measurement of combustion related fuel properties up to 300°C. While leading a multidisciplinary team in the design and commission of the unique instrumentation required she performed all data acquisition and analysis. In addition to performing needed research Roxanne worked to implement unique solutions to improve experimental methods and analysis procedures. The findings of this research program have been published and continue to be referenced in cutting edge research papers.
